I Considered Quitting This Week
Hello and welcome!
Are you surprised? I asked my husband if I should just quit this week.
How It Happened
This past weekend, my husband was working on his beloved ’96 Camaro, which needs an engine replacement. It hasn’t run since 2016. He pulled the engine and transmission out and found the transmission was also cracked. He sent pictures to his mechanic friend, and he said Derek would be better off just buying a running car. This one has sat too long. Mice nested behind the dash in the car last winter. Plastic parts have cracked in the heat. The tires rotted, and the AC needs to be replaced because it has been opened to the atmosphere, etc.
We could buy him a sports car if I give up on my business. I asked Derek if I should do so.
I’m so close to turning a profit. He was shocked. No! Why give up now? But I seriously considered it.
Dean’s Advice After Vacation: You can do this!
My mentor, Dean Holland, just returned from vacation. He came back inspired. He told us we can do this and how:
- Believe in yourself.
- Focus. 100% of the time, you are at the computer.
- Concentrate.
- Commit 100% until you achieve success.
- Do NOT give in or give up.
- It is absolutely in your control to create the life you want.
He Asked Us Two Questions
- Can I honestly say I’m doing the above, or do I sometimes waver?
- Am I all in, no matter how long it takes?
If, Yes
It won’t take long to succeed if I’m focused, focused, 100% committed, and not giving up. You cannot be defeated if you don’t stop and ask for feedback along the way.
The Next Day
The next day, a small group met with Dean for our Pro-Coaching meeting. I’m very lucky to be part of this group. Dean talked about how it is possible to learn the skills we need to learn. I’ve got to be willing not to be good in the beginning, but to practice and get good.
Dean stated you can start being the person you want to be in this instant. Build belief in yourself by doing it. Take small micro-steps daily, and you’ll build belief one building block at a time. The more progress you experience, the more faith you will have.
Conclusion
During the question-and-answer session with Dean, I shared that I would like to believe in myself on a deeper level. Dean suggested I focus on one small step forward each day. As I move forward from one task to another, just focus on that one small task. The completed tasks will build, and the belief I have in myself will grow.
I hope this advice that helped me refocus and recommit helps you, too.
What questions does this advice spark in you? What changes would you make if you claimed this advice as your own?
Ciao for now,
HI Nakina – Wow! What an incredible story ad what a decision you had to make. I can only imagine it was gut wrenching knowing that if you quit right now you could offer your husband something he loved at this very moment. Or you could persevere and offer your husband that same gift and much more with time, patience, grit, hustle and a little bit of luck. You are very fortunate to have someone like Dean to guide you and motivate you. I just know you’re going to succeed, and I’m thrilled to follow you so that I can read all about it! Have a wonderful day, my friend!
That’s an excellent way to put it, Ernie. If I persevere, I’ll be able to give my husband a bountiful car hobby. That makes me feel better. He deserves to be able to tinker out in the garage all day. I thank you for your encouragement!
Nakina
Ouch! It is tough doing business without the support of your partner. I know you can and ARE doing this!! Someday your husband will thank you❤️
Hey, Kate! Oh no! He does support me. He’s actually the one who said no, don’t quit; you’re so close! I corrected my post to make that more clear 🙂 He will definitely be happier someday in the near future. Thank you for your faith in me! So encouraging!
Nakina
Wow, your post really resonates with me! It’s so easy to feel like giving up when faced with obstacles. But your story highlights a crucial point: staying committed to your goals, even when it feels tough, is key to achieving success. I have struggled a lot with this over the years; I have tried many things to get into a good financial situation to have a family, but realizing that there is no end game; it’s a constant journey, and you have to constantly stay positive and keep going. I am glad Dean’s advice kept you going. I also try to just focus on small steps, no matter how small, they add up over time. Thanks for sharing your journey and the wisdom you’ve gained. It’s motivating to see how perseverance and focus can make all the difference!
Looking forward to hearing more about your progress and any new insights you gain along the way!
Hi, Alison! I’m so glad to hear you understand where I’m coming from. It’s such a relief just to connect with people in a similar situation. We can do this; we just need to keep going. Those small steps are what will get us there 🙂
Thanks for your comment,
Nakina
Nakina, we typically have a lot of focus and we state our commitment early on when starting to work an online business. Further down the road we need to be on guard against that consideration to quit, and as you have pointed out this week – it is good advice to follow to refocus and recommit.
I have been a bit distracted this week and this kind of advice helps me reaffirm a commitment to step up my efforts on a blog hopping traffic strategy.

Hey, Bob!
I’m so glad to encourage you as well. We are both making progress, my friend!
Nakina
I am not in Deans Group and your post was sent to me by a friend on Facebook.
Yes we all feel like giving up at times but what is the alternative? Never reaching OUR goals and dreams. I am thankful for a wife that supports me in my dreams.
Keep going and never quit.
Oh and Thanks to Soapbox Bob for sharing this

Hi, Jim!
I’m so glad you commented! I am so grateful to be a part of a community of people online who are going after our dreams. So glad to meet you!

Hi Nakina!
I totally get where you’re coming from. Balancing big dreams with life’s curveballs can be tough. Your husband’s Camaro project sounds like quite the challenge. I’m no stranger to car repairs myself. My son has been deep into fixing things in his car recently and replacing parts, so I totally get the challenges involved. It’s an expensive and a ongoing thing.
Dean’s advice is exactly what you needed. Believing in yourself, staying focused, and committing fully can make a huge difference. His tips on taking small daily steps to build confidence are practical and encouraging. It’s about making progress, one step at a time.
You just have to be patient and hang in there and good things will come your way. 😊

Hi, Meredith!
Yes, I just need to be patient! True words! I need to get my head out of the clouds and focus on my small tasks for the day, and I’ll make the progress I need to make. You are wise! I thank you all for encouraging me today!
Nakina
Nakina,
We all want you to stay on board. If you only knew how we all have the same thoughts. You can do it.

Hi, Scott!
Thank you so much! It’s good to know I’m not alone!
Nakina
I love how you’ve taken Dean’s advice to heart and are applying it to both your business and personal life. It’s amazing how a little focus and commitment can make such a big difference. Keep pushing forward, and remember, those small steps you take daily are what lead to big successes. It sounds like you’re really close to turning that corner—don’t give up now!
Thank you, Sarah!
I’ve definitely worked too hard to give up now. It helps to just focus on the small tasks and just trust the process will follow. My husband isn’t impatient; it’s just me! LOL! Thank you for your comment!
Nakina
Hi Nakina,
Just as I was replying to the comments left on my blog, I was also listening to the PRO recording from Dean.
I truly believe that I came into Deans circle at a time when I was able, willing and capable of putting into action what he was teaching.
You know the old adage: “the master will present itself when the student is ready”.
We are both part of PRO so we do have that extra edge compared to others so the only reply I can tell you is this:
Yes, you and I are totally capable of doing this.
Why? Because we both know that it isn’t easy and we both know that it’s a road filled with doubt, comments from others who don’t know about it and yet provide a “this ain’t going to work” comment.
On the other side, we are also surrounded by others who have attained success: Dean, Glenn, Sophie and many others.
We are also surrounded by those like us who wish to succeed at Affiliate Marketing and provide a support that no amount of money could provide.
You can do this because others believe in you. period.
So time to go out there and get it done. Let’s share in that future success and in knowing that the support we needed to get there was provided by like-minded people!
Wishing you all the best in September and onward!
You’re right, Marc! Thank you!
We’re surrounded by success, people who share how they succeeded, and a crowd of people who believe in us. You’re an example of that 🙂
Onward we go!
Nakina
Thank you for sharing your journey! It’s inspiring to see how you’re navigating challenges and finding motivation in Dean’s advice. I completely resonate with the idea of taking small steps daily; even minor progress can have significant meaning. If there are other promising options that could lead you to the results you’re seeking, it’s worth considering them, but as Dean mentioned in the pro partner section, starting a new journey can mean losing time and money without any guarantees of success. That’s why I’ve decided to give it my all and do whatever it takes until I achieve my goals. What’s one small task you’re focusing on today? Wishing you continued success on your path. All the Best!
Thank you, Ezequiel! Today, for example, I have so many “small” tasks to do that it’s a bit overwhelming. But only one small task at a time. At the end of the day, and especially at the end of the week, a lot of progress will be made. All the best!
Nakina
I appreciate your honesty. It’s good to ask ourselves these kinds of questions, even should I quit, there are times when the answer is yes, so it’s good to have the clarity and commitment to continue. And it’s great your husband is supporting you.

Hi, Nathan!
It is good to face the question head-on when it comes up. It could do a lot of damage lurking about in the mind. It would hold me back and I’d wind up even more discouraged. But the answer is no! So, I continue. And it is amazing to have Derek supporting me. I’m very lucky in that.
Nakina
I think you are not alone in having negative thoughts about throwing in the towel. Dean certainly gave us all food for thought the other day with his questionnaire about giving up or carrying on. I’m so glad you decided to carry on and it’s great that your husband supports you. I wish we could all have the same support from our loved ones.
Hi, Andy!
I am blessed to have a husband who supports me 100%. I hope you have someone in your life to support you in your journey. I’m glad to know I’m not alone. There are so many people here who resonate with my experience, and we’re all continuing on. Let’s continue to support each other!
Nakina
Nakina, there have been many times I’ve felt like giving up. I think it’s only natural to feel that way, especially when it doesn’t always feel like you’re moving forward. I fixate on certain things for too long instead of just doing what I need to do and moving on. It’s the perfectionist in me. I think we’re always hardest on ourselves and maybe feel a little selfish for wanting something, spending so much time doing it, and not seeing a return fast enough. Others around you may also think you’re wasting your time because they don’t see progress. It sounds like your husband does see it and supports you 100 percent. You are fortunate… Keep up the great work you’re doing… you, I, and we will all get there, even one micro step at a time.
Hey, Vanessa!
Oh, I can relate! I’m a perfectionist as well! It sounds like you picked up on that. LOL! One tiny step at a time.
Here we go!!!
