My favorite lesson I learned this week is my blog is an invitation for a chat. It is as if I am welcoming you into my home for a cup of coffee or tea and a conversation about our week. So, welcome!
I’ve learned a lot again this week. First of all, I believe I am taking myself too seriously. I had several goals this week: setting up a lead magnet, signing up on all the social media platforms, and beginning blog hopping while continuing Quora. I barely scratched the surface. I was beating myself up about how little I had accomplished. Derek said, “So what?” My husband can be a bit laconic when it comes to giving advice.
I realized he was right.
I am the one putting the pressure on myself. I’m doing so because the ultimate goal is to make money. I’m not nearly to the point where I’d expect to get results. I’m trying to get there as quickly as possible. That’s what we all want, right? For our businesses to do well.
I’ll make better progress if I take some of the pressure off my shoulders. I need to lighten the load, and I’ll get further along this week. This week I did sign up for several social media platforms. I’m not sure how to incorporate social media into my blogging strategy. Since I’m new to the platforms, I’m unsure where to begin. I’ll be asking my mentors for help there. I want to do so much. I need to get some input on where to focus first. I’m not sure what is most important at this stage.
On a happy note, my health is doing a lot better. It’s always such a strain whenever I do full-time training for my day job. It’s been about a month of getting back to normal already. I expect I’ll need less extra rest in the coming week. I plan to devote one hour to answering Quora questions and use the rest of my time to work on other topics.
Dean always says you’ve got to get in front of the traffic. So, that’s my primary goal. After all, I’d like to invite you to join me for coffee each Sunday. I’ve just got to figure out how to get you that invite!
